Aint it wonderful to own a Checker and get to know other Checker owners

last summer i got to know Karl and Armin and this autumn Karl visited me in Stockholm and i drove him around in my Londontax /private hire car from 1984 and h liked it a lot and wanted to buy it and last sunday i had decided to sell it and two hours later i was on my way down to germany 1500 km ride in my black cab to deliver it to Karl....

well once i arrived down in rossdorf i was taken care of and we had a nice meal with Karl his family and i was totaslly exhausted after 1,5 days awake exept a small nap on 3+1 hrs
so off to the hotel and went in to a state of coma...

next day Karl and i went to Heidelbertg and went to the most magnificent technical museum wich i really reccomend if you go to germany.

it had allmost evry Mercedes model made loads of war material all kinds of airplanes and so on Adolf Hitlers parade mercedes and Himmlers special made was just a few of them.

After the museum we went to look at a Checker Wagon from 1963 that was for sale and i just fell for it like a chopped off tree and we came to an agreement me and Helmut the former owner and i bought the beauty and drove it back to sweden

Its an 1963 with only 125000 km on the clock and it has continental 6 with 3 on a tree
It has only had 2 owners since new one in switerland and one in Germany the last owner bought it 1997 and now its imported to Stockholm Sweden

Runs like a dream and only took 13 liters per 100 km when i drove it ioin 100 km per hour.

the german TUV or MOT had stopped the car from registration and said it was in way to bad shape but here in sweden i had no problems what so ever to register it and i was given a bölank protocoll.

Its really strange how differnt the MOT values of differnt contries work.

I am today so greatful beacuse here in Seden there is only one moore wagon and its in pretty bad shape and not original any moore.
The other one is a pice of rust

This car will stay in my collection for sure.

I want to officially than Karl M for the tip of this car that made it possible for own aChecker model i newer thaught i would own

My intent was to fly home now i drove instead with a checker Wagon

Photos of the car can be wiewed at photos under Members and Mats-Einar
Karl and Armins checker can be seen at a separate album where i also placed a photo of the Black cab.

Well thats all for now this morning we are taking the A12W on a long trip 5 hrs drivning to the west coast the car has only been driven apx 7500 km the last ten year so i t needs to exersise a car shall be used is my opinion...

so now i own two Ladies and a couple of princesses two and a servant
Lady Matilda 1979 A11E
and
Lady Alinde 1963 A12W

and a pegeout 404 from 1964 (princess)
Volvo 760 1988 evryday car (servant)
and a pickup to transport all junk i have...(Slave)

THE ONE THAT HAS MOST THNGS WHEN HE DIES WINS.......

aint life good Smile
