Yes, those Checker A2's really are a rare find. There are only two other of these vehicles known to exist, and only one in the U.S. Something that is such an American icon and is as rare as that carries tremendous intrinsic value. Even though they are in rough shape it could be worth bringing them over and restoring them. The odd thing is, so few automotive historians and restorers show even psssing interest in Checkers. I don't know what will become of those cars, but I sure wish someone cared enough to bring them back.
