Reminder - you have only a bit less than 11 weeks to register for the National Convention ... here is some more information about it from Jim Garrison:

OK. The official deadline (June 1) is past but there are some stragglers out there who have emailed me if it is too late ...
Yes, you can still come to the convention. If we don't get your registration before the convention, we'll catch you at the hotel on Friday, Pep Boys on Friday night or the Air Zoo on Saturday. Registration is still $10 a person ... we aren't charging extra on-site but maybe we should ...
Since the Friday afternoon BBQ / cookout is being catered and had to be pre-paid, if you are not pre-registered, there WILL NOT be a meal for you. Contact Ron Leatz if you haven't paid and want a meal ... there is still a few days to adjust the numbers.

You might have noticed that Saturday evening one of the agenda items is awards. We plan to give out the following awards, mostly just for fun ... judges decisions are final ... and the awards are what the judge(s) deem "appropriate" for that category ... so they are not all "cheap plaques"
Longest Distance a Checker is brought to the show
Shortest Distance a Checker is brought to the show
(distance awards apply to driven or towed, home address to Air Zoo address)
Highest Mileage ... semi-documented anyway ... we'll believe most tales if they sound good
Most Unique (whatever we decide that means ...)
"Hard Luck" to the Checker having the most trouble getting to the show ... so if you don't tell us your tale of woe, we won't know about it ... we don't really want you to break down but if you do and still manage to make it, we figure you deserve some recognition
And whatever else we dream up between now and then
