Hello to all Checker people,
Some of you already know that I am doing there in Poland restoration of
Checker A-11. I want to finish my Checker as a replica of NYC Taxi as a
tribute to world-wide recognizable icon of New Yourk City. Also this is
realization of my dream to own a Checker taxi.
Now is the time to paint the body and I encouter some problems with colour
matching. I know that there was in general two shades of yellow according to
DuPont codes. One bright and one a little warmer. I think that the second
one may be better for my taxi. Although the American DuPont
codes are there in Europe useless.
Maybe one of European Checker owners can help me in that matter and send me:
- appropriate colour codes (my body paint man prefer RM manufacturer), or
- sample of paint in the bottle, or
- small piece of painted tin.
I especially count on strong group of Checker taxi owners of Netherlands.
I cover the costs of course.
Are there someone who will be so kind for me
and help in this matter?
Best regards,
Maciek |

At last i found the note with the coclor code for the checker that i went to dupont to get on my cab it dosent exsist as checker color anymoore but belive it or not by an accuracy of 0 to 5 5 beeinbg the worst they shot my color with a reader and got to 0,5 wich is very good in deed...then it turned out that the color is today used by fiat/lancia and is labeld as
Dupont 070
Giacella Centari 5035
