TOPIC: Can't Change Profile Info

Can't Change Profile Info 12 months ago #12441

Good day everyone!

I am newly registered, just bought my first Checker a couple weeks ago. I am trying to update my profile, and I keep getting an error page saying that there are "Illegal Characters in Global Text". It does not save my profile information.

Any chance this could be looked into?

Thanks!

Robert,

Occasionally we get an error message 'illegal token' but it saves the data. However, we're on a new version of the software, so who knows? Are you trying to use a special character in a password or change your user name? Both those are not allowed.

If you can't get it to work, email your changes and I'll try it from the admin panel to see if that works any differently.

No sir,

Just trying to update with my birthday, address, signature and that sort of thing. I will try it again, maybe I fat-fingered it, but it won't let me upload an avatar either. It doesn't specify a file size, and the picture I am using is quite large. Maybe I should try scaling it back and see if it will go through then.

I will report back here if/when I find out anything.

So, when trying to change anything, here is the message I get:

Illegal key characters in global data

It goes to an all white page, with this text in the top left corner.

Hope that helps.

Just checked the avatar size in the new version; it is set to 2 MB max. However, the image upload limit was set to only 1 MB so that could have been catching you on the avatar; just reset image size to 2 MB to match the avatar limit.

On the signature line, the current limit is 300 characters.

Not sure about the other stuff, while the same software as before, with the new release the interface is a bit different so I'm kind of wandering around on a couple of things. Maybe Matt will see the posts and run some tests.
