June 19 to 22, 2014 Convention Forms Available...
We are posting these registration files here for member's convenience. Follow this link to locate the registration and car form.
Thanks for remembering that you must be a registered member to attend the club sponsored events in NYC.
The fees charged by the convention board are to pay for expenses of holding the convention in their area. The club only puts some money upfront to insure the events will go on without a hitch. We have NOT had any convention in recent years that has cost the club money (since I have been treasurer). Most of the conventions make a few dollars for the club…in some cases it has been ONLY a FEW dollars.
Your dues payment goes to supporting activities we sponsor for our membership, such as providing assistance with Checker’s maintenance, access to restricted portion our website, quarterly newsletters, and others club related items. If you have any questions about finance, please contact the treasurer or other board members.
Remember the Board of Directors meeting on Saturday morning June 21 at 8 o’clock is open to all. There are future openings that we would like to see people who are willing to serve. Take a few minutes to consider serving on your club’s board as an officer.

2014 NYC Convention Updated 01/14/2014
Happy New Year!
The December 31 deadline for getting the club discount at the Box House Hotel has now passed. As some of you know, we sold out the block of rooms that were allotted to us and a wait list was started by the hotel. The wait list is not there in the hopes that someone will cancel their reservation. Rather, it is a temporary measure to allow the Box House to assign another set of rooms. Everyone who got their name on the list by December 31 will receive the discounted hotel rate.
From now until the end of May, we will be getting a new block of rooms that, most likely, will be in a new hotel also owned by Joe Torres. While it is in walking distance of the Box House, you can either use your own car or ask the hotel to give you a ride using their own Checkers. We will give you the new rates as soon as they are negotiated. Please note that the hotel does not yet have a name. So, they won't be able to tell you where you are staying until this is finalized.
