Finally the motor arrived. 
Took it home, uncrated it, and mounted it on the engine stand. Assembled the motor the rest of the way with the intake, TBI, distributor, sensors, new water pump, new starter and exhaust headers. Now it was time to take out the old motor. The first step was to take lots of digital photos for future reference. We started by removing the hood followed by the radiator, A/C evaporator, dryer, radiator braces, taking photos at almost every point. Disconnect the wiring, fuel line, and exhaust. Unbolt the motor mounts and transmission bell housing; be sure to put a support under the transmission. Hook on the “cherry picker” and out with the motor.  Keep reading
