Definitions:
A "simple" ad is straight text.
A “camera ready” ad is an ad delivered to the editor in electronic form to exact specifications that can be inserted in the newsletter with no changes required. The editor will provide the specifications and will determine if the ad as submitted is “camera ready”.
A "complex" ad would be anything else included, such as a photo, a title, a border or anything else.
a) Establish rates of $25 for 1/8 and $15 for 1/16 th page ads. Current rates for a black and white ad are 1/4 page - $45, 1/2 page $80 and full page $150. These rates are per insertion per issue.
b) No setup fees for "simple" or “camera ready” ads. All other ads ("complex") will have a one-time setup fee of $25 / hour with a one hour minimum for ads other than straight text. This fee will be passed on directly to the newsletter editor as a professional service fee to cover his or her time and effort.
c) Special formats, layout work and photo editing will be charged at $25 per hour. This fee will be passed on the to newsletter editor as a professional services fee.
d) For a four-issue reservation of the same ad, a 15% discount will be given against the rates in (a). The discount does not apply to the setup fees.
e) All ad copy in proof form must be approved in writing by the advertiser and must be paid for at time of proof approval / submission. Unpaid ads will not be printed.
f) The rates in (a) and discounts in (d) would apply to currently paid up club members and businesses owned / operated by club members.
g) Rates for non-current club members. Non-members and businesses would be charged an additional 25%.
h) Business entities and persons doing business as sole proprietorship (single person) will be charged rates a through h as applicable based on their membership status.
i) The club will continue to offer free one time insertion per item(s) ads to club members with the length to not exceed 5 column lines.
j) Repeat ads selling parts or cars as an ongoing business will be charged the business rate in (a) through (g) as applicable.
k) The club reserves the right to refuse any ad for any reason, including but not limited to multiple complaints from club members about vendors failing to deliver goods or services. The editor shall consult with one or more club officers before refusing any ad. Ad refusal can be appealed to the full Board of Directors.
l) The club will make a good faith effort to enforce the policies outlined in a through k above. If an ad that should have billed as a commercial ad is accidentally published, a bill will be issued for the ad. Billing disputes can be appealed to the full Board of Directors.
m) Since the previous advertising policy was ambiguous, void all previous ad billing and make the above effective upon adoption by the Board of Directors or upon publication.
